The Allegation
Two allegations were raised against PT Adimulia Palmo Lestari (APL): that employees chased away locals from the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) tribe for picking up fallen palm fruit to sell for food, and that an SAD resident was killed by PT APL security guard back in 2022.

Permata Group was informed by ASD Collective Grievance Management that PT Adimulia Palmo Lestari, one of our suppliers is: 1. Alleged to have conflicts with the local tribes, Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) where employees of PT APL was alleged to have chased locals away for picking up fallen / damaged palm oil fruits, which they sell to afford food. 2. Back in 2022, a SAD resident is alleged to have been killed by a PT APL security guard in a conflict.

Permata Group engaged with PT. Adimulia Palmo Lestari to clarify about the allegation. PT Adimulia Palmo Lestari firmly denies all of the allegations raised in the ASD Collective Grievance Report. The company claimed that they were not involved in the shooting described in the report. Permata Group requested further clarifications.

PT. Adimulia Palmo Lestari responded to Permata Group's further request for information stating that the incident happened in land owned by community partners and the perpetrator of the shootings have undergone legal proceedings and are currently serving their sentences as convicts at the Muara Bulian Class II B Correctional Facility. The company respects the Indonesian legal process and states that the final, legally binding court verdict proves that PT. Adimulia Palmo Lestari has no connection to the incident.
Current Status / Resolution
Based on the findings and response above, and with the alleged perpetrator sentenced and serving time at the Muara Bulian Class IIB Correctional Facility, we consider this case closed.
