The Allegation

Buyer reports alleged that PT Uniseraya (Panca Eka Group) conducted deforestation and peatland development. The company claimed the cleared land was previously used for sago rather than newly converted, but analysis revealed inconsistencies with this account.

    Permata Group received information from our buyers regarding alleged deforestation and peatland development by PT Uniseraya, a subsidiary of Panca Eka Group.

  2. 15 Nov 2024

    Panca Eka Group confirmed that PT Uniseraya had conducted land clearing on peatland for palm oil cultivation, converting an area claimed to be previously used for sago thus is technically not deforestation and not new conversion on peat. Permata Group requested more detailed information and clarification to the inconsistencies between their claim and our analysis of their initial data

  3. 17 Dec 2024

    Panca Eka Group provided more information and documentation regarding their sago palm. However, more inconsistencies were found. Permata Group then request that Panca Eka Group issue a Stop Work Order, conduct an HCV-HCS assessment, and share their Rehabilitation/Recovery plans.

    Permata Group encountered slow response from our engagement attempts but decided to grant more time for Panca Eka Group

  5. 24 Feb 2025

    Due to very slow response, Permata Group decided to place Panca Eka Group and all its subsidiaries on the No Buy list. Therefore, they are required to fulfill our Re-Entry Procedure before any future collaboration.

The company has been placed on the No Buy list and must complete a Re-Entry Procedure before any future collaboration.
