The Allegation
PT Sawit Sukses Sejati (SSS) was alleged to have conducted deforestation. A later Environmental Investigation Agency report found that PT Rimba Mujur Mahkota's Sikarakara Mill had sourced from SSS in 2022.

18 May 2022
Permata received information from Mighty Earth's Rapid Response Report No.39 that PT. Sawit Sukses Sejati (SSS) is alleged to have conducted deforestation. Since PT. SSS is not a direct Permata supplier but supplied to Permata through STA Resources, Permata has engaged with STA to help engage PT. SSS for clarification.

STA Resources informed Permata that they have reached out to PT. SSS for clarification and will update Permata once more information is available.
31 May 2022
After having engaged with PT. SSS, STA Resources informed us that the concession of PT. SSS was previously known to have belonged to PT Anugerah Langkat Makmur. The change of name took place in December 2020. STA also noted that no HCV/HCS assessment has been conducted for the said concession. Permata suspended PT. SSS from its supply chain. STA Resources has ceased sourcing Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) from PT. SSS and will monitor PT. SSS for further updates.

Permata Group received another report from Environmental Investigation Agency stating that PT. Rimba Mujur Mahkota - Sikarakara Mill (RMM) had been sourcing from PT Sawit Sukses Sejati plantation in 2022. Permata Group has engaged with PT Rimba Mujur Mahkota (RMM) to seek further clarification.

PT. RMM confirmed that they have stop sourcing from PT. SSS as of 2023 and lastly sourced FFB from PT. SSS in October 2022.
Current Status / Resolution
SSS remains suspended from Permata's supply chain.
